The Rigi, also known as the "Queen of the Mountains", owes its reputation to its imposing shape, its majestic location and its unique panoramic view over 13 lakes and the Alpine sea. Goethe and Queen Victoria praised its beauty in their writings, and Mark Twain made the Rigi legendary with his humorous description of a sleepy sunrise.

 Early in the morning, a special train takes you up to Rigi-Kulm, where, if the weather is good, you can experience the unforgettable moment of sunrise over the Alps. The golden light that spreads over the peaks and lakes is one of those moments that will remain etched in your memory forever.

 After breakfast, a leisurely hike along the panoramic trail takes you to Alp Chäserenholz. In the small alpine dairy, you can watch the cheesemaker at work and learn how meadows, cow's milk and time shape the taste of alpine cheese. You will enjoy a fondue or other regional specialities accompanied by the sounds of the alphorn. For dessert, there is an entertaining crash course in alphorn playing – an ideal opportunity for great souvenir photos.

 In the afternoon, we descend into Lucerne and from there continue by train through the Gotthard, the longest railway tunnel in the world, to Lugano in Italian-speaking Switzerland. Free evening for a stroll along the lake promenade, an aperitivo in the piazza or a fine dinner in the old town.
