A funicular takes us up to Monte Brè, where we visit the artists' village and enjoy spectacular views of the lake and mountains. The bus takes us to Gandria, the last village before the Italian border. The picturesque fishing village with its narrow streets, colourful houses and the 16th-century Church of San Viglio invites you to take a stroll. In a traditional grotto, we enjoy a classic Ticino menu – perhaps a risotto with osso bucco and a glass of local Merlot. There is time for a stroll through the narrow streets with their beautiful shops.

 We walk along the Olive Trail, or "Sentiero dell'Olivo" in Italian, a 3.3 km long hiking trail that connects Gandria with Castagnola. The trail takes us along Lake Lugano, fragrant olive groves and beautiful gardens. In Parco San Michele, you can enjoy a moment of tranquillity with a magnificent view of San Salvatore.
