Day 4: Lucerne – Scenic gateway to Lake and Mountains
EXPERIENCE CITY AND LAKE
THAT CAPTIVATE ROYAL HEARTS
EXPERIENCE LUCERN'S HISTORY, HERITAGE, AND HIDDEN GEMS
Lucerne has been one of Switzerland's most popular tourist destinations since the 19th century. And it's no wonder: with its luxury hotels, historic old town, Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument, the city is a real gem nestled between the lake and the mountains.
On a private city tour, you will immerse yourself in the history of the city. We will visit the old town, discover its landmarks and follow in the footsteps of the Belle Epoque – the era in which Queen Victoria spent several weeks in Lucerne in 1868. Her diaries made Lucerne world-famous overnight and triggered a real tourism boom in the city. The names of hotels, squares and a steamboat bear witness to her stay.
We will take the scheduled boat service across Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. On a spectacular journey on Europe's first cogwheel train, we ascend to the Rigi. After checking in at Rigi-Kaltbad, a relaxing break awaits you at the Mineral bath & Spa Rigi Kaltbad, 1,450 metres above sea level, you can relax in 35°C spring water – with a breathtaking panoramic view of the lake and the Alps.
In the evening, an exclusive gourmet dinner awaits you at the hotel.
